Obituary of Marjorie Drobiak

Marjorie A. Drobiak, 93, of Manchester, wife of the late John J. Drobiak passed away Friday (January 25, 2013) at Woodlake at Tolland after many months of declining health. Born in Killingly, CT February 26, 1919, the daughter of the late Clifford and Myrtle Arnold, she grew up in Killingly, graduated from Killingly High School in 1937 and moved to Manchester in the 1950's. She had retired from Pratt & Whitney (UTC) in 1976 after 25 years of service. During her retirement she was a hospital volunteer at MMH and Day Kimball Hospital. Before losing her sight mom loved doing her daily crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, and watching the UCONN boys and girls play basketball games. Besides her husband and parents, Marge was predeceased by her brother Edward (Ted) Arnold whom she missed dearly. Survivors include her sons Robert M. Drobiak, Jan F. Drobiak; daughter Catherine D. Smith; granddaughters Brooke E. Smith, Alyssa C. Drobiak, and Sherrill Martin; and five great grandchildren. Marge's family would like to offer a special thanks to all the nurses and staff at Woodlake at Tolland, especially Irene, Hortense, and Robin. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements. Per Marge's request, funeral service will be private.
