Esther Mallon, wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) Mallon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1918 to Domenic and Carolina (Cignetti) Enrico in Manchester where she lived all her life. Esther graduated from Manchester High and Bryant College after which she worked for Connecticut General Insurance Co. in Hartford. She retired from the Manchester Board of Education where she worked as a secretary at Manchester High. She was a communicant of St. Bridget Church. After retiring Esther and Larry enjoyed many trips to California and Las Vegas. Esther was a great cook and was a member of a health spa into her 80's. She was also an avid reader and loved to walk and shop. She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Robert) Lewis of Manchester and Mary (Douglas) Shorts of Ellington, and a son Lawrence of Manchester, a sister-in-law Marge Inzinga of Columbia, four grandchildren Robert Lewis of Manchester, James (Araseli) Lewis of San Diego, CA, Wendy (Jerry) Clark of Tolland and Heather (Tim) Thomas of Ellington; five great grandchildren, Mitchell, Julia and Cole Clark; Camden and Chase Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Olga Spillane and her brother Aldo Enrico. Private services will be held for the family. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester has care of the arrangements.
