Obituary of Catherine Lodge
Catherine M. Lodge,92, the widow of Clarence R. Lodge died on Tuesday (September 20, 2011) at the St. Joseph's Little Sisters of the Poor Residence in Enfield. Catherine was born in Fitchburg, MA the daughter of James and Ann McGowan. A resident of Manchester for many years she was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, and a member of the churches Ladies Guild and Legion of Mary. She built and ran the Church of the Assumption religious gift shop. She was a volunteer for 15 years at St. Josephs Little Sisters of the Poor Residence and had lived there for the past 8 years. She is survived by her children Anne Hatten and her husband Neil of Ellington, Thomas Lodge and his wife Kathie of Manchester, Daniel Lodge and his wife Marsha of Hebron, William Lodge and his wife Anne of Manchester, and James Lodge of Manchester; sixteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Catherine's family would like to offer a special thanks to all of the staff at St. Joseph's Residence for their loving friendship and care. Funeral service will be held on Friday (September 23rd) at 10:45 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 am at the Church of the Assumption Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 pm.
