Leona (Keevers) Lavery, 93, of Manchester, the wife of the late Raymond V. Lavery died on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at Manchester Manor. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Amy (Perry) Keevers. She was a long time resident of Manchester and retired from Manchester Memorial Hospital as a nurse after more than thirty years of service. She is survived by her daughter Mj Terry of Manchester, her son R. Bruce and his wife Johan P. Lavery of Manchester, and her son Russell Lavery of Philadelphia, PA her granddaughter Heather L. Hayes and her husband Kevin Hayes, her grandson Matthew B. Lavery; and her great-grandsons, Keagan and Logan Hayes. She was predeceased by her sister Bernice Woodbury and brother Matthew Keevers. The family would like to extend a special thanks for the care and patience of the staff of Manchester Manor North 1 and Masonicare Partners Hospice. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (September 3rd) at 9 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
