Obituary of John Lynn

John Lynn, 89, of Henderson, NV, formerly of South Windsor and Manchester, the husband of the late Doris (Muskewit) Lynn died Sunday (August 14, 2011). John had retired from the US Army after 22 years of service and later retired after 20 years from Gerber Scientific. He was a Communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church in South Windsor for many years. He was also a Past Commander of both the Manchester VFW Post 2046, and the 3rd District VFW, and a former member of the British American Club and the Irish American Home Society. He is survived by his son William Lynn and his wife Carmen of Henderson, NV, his daughter Sharon Hunter of East Hampton; his step-children Thomas Smith and his wife Denise, Robert Smith, Joann MacDougald and her husband Edward, and Cynthia Holt; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother William Lynn of Manchester, his sister Bridget Marceau and her husband William of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Mary Tamayo and Theresa Hayden. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (August 20, 2011) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams St. South, Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm.
