Clayton J. Meyers, 63, of Amston died on Saturday ( June 4. 2011) in Amston. He was born Sept. 16, 1947 the son of Bernice Dougan of Maine and the late John F. Meyers. He was raised in the Durham/Higganum area, lived in Manchester and moved to Amston in 1978. Clay served as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam, worked as a roofer and as a cable splicer for the former SNETCO, retiring in 1997. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with his hunting dogs. He also leaves his wife Marilyn (Bania) Meyers, his daughter Sara Meyers-Hicks of Canada, his son John "Jake" Meyers of Amston and his sister Dorinda O'Laughlin of Griswold. In accordance to Clay's wishes there will be a cremation and no calling hours.
