Obituary of Timothy Moriarty
Timothy J. Moriarty, 54, of Manchester, died Sunday (June 5, 2011) after a short courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind Kim Moriarty, of Manchester, his soul mate. Born in Manchester, April 12, 1957, he was the son of Margaret (Galvin) Moriarty of Manchester and the late Timothy Moriarty, Sr. He is survived by his children Justine E. Moriarty and Kevin M. Moriarty of West Hartford; three step-children Robert N. Roy and his wife Cathleen of Manchester, Nicholas R. Roy and his wife Jennifer of Manchester, Meghan Roy of Manchester and her significant other Jose Espinosa; his beloved grandchildren Benjamin, Taylor, Brianna, Landon, Alivia and Liam. He also leaves behind his sisters Marylyn Moriarty and her husband Colin Knox of Hopkinton, MA, and Noreen O'Sullivan and her husband Tadhg of Ludlow, MA, as well as three nieces Mairead, Fiona and Moira O'Sullivan; two sisters-in-law Raeleen and her husband Burt Anderson of Glastonbury, and Robin Benjamin of Glastonbury; nieces and nephews in law Shannon Sales and Dillon Anderson, Raymond and Carol Benjamin, and great-nephew in law Brenton Sales. Tim was also predeceased by his beloved dog Clancy. Tim was employed by Carter Chevrolet of Manchester and attended East Catholic High School. Tim was past president of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury and for several years ran the Manchester St. Patrick's Parade Committee Fundraiser. He was a member of the Glastonbury Irish American Home, the Washington Social Club and the Manchester Lodge of Elks. He loved to go to Charlestown, RI during the summer spending time on his boat, playing golf, and attending Red Sox Games with his children Justine and Kevin and his grandson Benjamin. He spent his summers as a young boy in County Kerry, Ireland. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Wednesday (June 8th) from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester.
