Obituary of Keith Rogers

Doreen (Yates) and Keith Rogers died on Saturday (May 28, 2011) in Ohio the result of an automobile and pedestrian accident. Both Doreen and Keith were born in England, Doreen the daughter of Joseph and Maud (Yates) Spencer and Keith the son of John and Lillian (Hoyle) Rogers. Keith was employed by Northeast Utilities from 1968 until his retirement. The Rogers' were very active members of the Salvation Army in Manchester .Doreen was active in the Home League and sang in the Songsters and Keith was the Corps treasurer for many years and played in the band. Doreen also enjoyed quilting, sewing and craft projects while Keith enjoyed do it yourself projects, following the Boston Bruins and the soccer club Arsenal of Barcelona. Together they were always willing to share their time in helping others and greatly enjoyed spending time with their family. The Rogers' are survived by their sons Jeremy Rogers and his wife Melinda, Nigel Rogers and his former wife Michelle Talbot Rogers and their daughter Ashley Rogers and her companion Ben McCarthy; their grandchildren Amanda Cima, Dan Cima and his wife Kate, David Rogers and Cameron Rogers and their great grandchildren Jenna, Julia and Kaylee Cima and Madalyn and Hayden Cima. Doreen is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Joan and Ray Woodman and Keith is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law John and Barbara Rogers, Peter and Gloria Rogers and Paul and Jean Rogers. Memorial donations may be made to either the Salvation Army c/o 661 Main St. Manchester, CT 06040 or the CT Eye Bank 100 Grand St. New Britain, CT 06052. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Friday from 4-8.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday (6/11) at the Salvation Army 661 Main St. Manchester.
