Obituary of Henry Leonard

Henry M. Leonard 81, of Bolton passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Kudlak) Leonard. He was born on August 9th, 1929 and grew up on the Leonard Dairy farm in Wethersfield, CT. Together with his brother, Thomas they operated the family dairy farm for many years. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Eleanora (Pianka) Leonard. In his retirement he enjoyed puttering around and gardening at his home in Bolton, CT. Henry is survived by his loving and devoted caregiver Josie Putkowska, many nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his seven brothers: Michael, Joseph, John, Stanley, Frank, Thomas Jr., and Edward, and by his sister Minnie. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Manchester Memorial Hospital who took care of him in his final hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday (May 16th) at Sacred Heart Church 550 Hartford Turnpike Vernon, CT followed by burial in St. Bernard Cemetery, Enfield. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Sunday from 4-7 pm.
