Obituary of Steve Powlishen

Steve Powlishen, 89, the husband of the late Olga (Laxman) Powlishen died on Thursday (November 3, 2011) at his home in East Hartford. Steve lived most of his life in East Hartford, having graduated from East Hartford High School and had lived in his current home for sixty-one years. He served in the US Army during World War II, obtained the rank of sergeant and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was also an active member of All Saints Orthodox Church in Hartford. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Kaman Aerospace and Hamilton Standard. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Lori Powlishen of Madison and his daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and James Burr of Grand Rapids, MI. Steve's family will greet family and friends on Monday (11/7) from 10:00 -11:00 at the All Saints Orthodox Church 205 Scarborough St. Hartford followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 at All Saints Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Salvation Army 333 Homestead Ave. Hartford, CT.
