Obituary of Virginia Herzog

Virginia Lee "Ginny" Herzog was born July 24, 1925 and passed away on December 1, 2012. She was the youngest of the eight children of John Rose and Grace (Powell) Rose and the last one surviving. Born in Indiana, she moved to New York after marrying Robert "Bob" Herzog who was stationed at IU during the war. Their son Phillip was born in 1945 and died in 1997. After Bob died in 1976 Ginny moved to Connecticut and initially lived with her daughter Louise Leitao and her husband Ron. In addition to Louise and Ron, she leaves grandsons Andy Leitao and Matt Leitao and his wife Kelly; her beloved granddaughter Lauren Herzog and her husband Dr. Michael Ford of New York; her longtime and loving companion Bernard Boland and his family and many nieces and nephews in Indiana. Many gave Ginny love and care that made her last years of life meaningful. Special thanks to Diane, Lisa and her family, Tom, Doris and her beloved dog Shadow. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
