Jack Marr (Manuel S. Margarido), 90 of Enfield, passed away peacefully on February 2. Born in Fall River, MA January 23, 1920 as a first generation of immigrants from the Azores Islands of Portugal. He lived most of his life in Connecticut, raised his family in Manchester before moving to Norfolk,VA for a decade then retiring to Willington, CT. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years Hazel Waterman Marr. Survived by his loving and dedicated partner of many years, Lila Mailman of Enfield, whom he shared the blessing of much joy and happiness. He was a proud veteran of WWII and Korean War serving in the Army Air Corps. During his professional sales career he worked with Prudential Life Ins. and Sherman Williams Company before creating his own hardware distribution company. Jack was innovative, had a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit which inspired him to create several successful small businesses in his life time. He greatly enjoyed the ocean, fishing, painting, and gardening. He was creative and loved to work on home projects and was truly a "Jack" of all trades. He was a loving father and felt much pride and joy in his family. In addition he is survived by his five children. Jean and Bob Nadeau of Saco, Maine, Thomas and Linda Margarido of Willington, Bruce Margarido of Belfast, Maine, Susan and Stephen Choma of Glastonbury and Peggy Dougan of Bolton., 13 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, his cousins Gloria Sypher and her husband Robert of Madison and Leandro Urcelay of North Carolina and many caring nieces and nephews.
