Obituary of Constance Nowicki Stasko

Constance Morelli Nowicki Stasko, 92, entered peacefully into heaven on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, CT.She was born on February 13, 1919 in Hartford, CT and was the oldest daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Morelli. Connie graduated from Bulkeley High School in the class of 1938 and performed with the city of Hartford Inter-High School Orchestra as a Violinist and Pianist. She was a buyer at G. Fox and Company and retired from Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was honored as one of the oldest living members of Center Church- First Church of Christ in Hartford. Connie was the wife of the late Frank Nowicki and the late John Stasko. Her beloved children and step-children were most important in her life. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved spending time with family and friends. She taught her daughters how to prepare both Italian and Polish dishes and was known for her spaghetti sauce. Connie is survived by her six devoted children and their spouses. Sandra and Bruce Garick of Coventry, Andrea Nardi of Vernon, Frank Nowicki of South Portland, ME, Elaine and Joseph R. Camposeo of Bolton, Kathleen and James Clark of Manchester, Leah Nowicki and Brian Kelley of Andover and Jacqueline and Edward Domainque of Florida. Connie brought a lot of love and music to her children and seven cherished Grand-children and their families. Kimberly and Louis Albuerne, Nick and Sheri Camposeo, Leah Camposeo, Jason and Cheri Garick, Joshua, James, Jason Clark, Kelly, Katie, Scott Domainque. She adored her Great Grandchildren Allison and David Albuerne, Joseph and Isabella Camposeo, Griffin, Madison and Isabella Garick. Connie leaves a large loving family, her brothers Albert Morelli, Arthur Morelli and his wife Ann, Malfaldo Morelli, and her sisters Leah Diorio and Bob Horne, Gloria and Ed Eckel. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law Andrew Nowicki and his wife Leona, and Charles Tomassi, her sister in-law Irene Morelli, Joyce Lingner and her husband Edward, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Carmen Morelli, her sisters Anna Appleby and Yolanda Syzdek, her sisters-in-law Mabel and Florence Morelli, and Martha, Helene and Stella Nowicki and her brothers-in-law Frank Diorio, Norman Appleby and Benjamin Nowicki. We her children thank the entire staff of the Crestfield Rehabilitation Center, especially Wing 4 for their professional excellence, devotion and loving care of Connie. We are thankful to the North Central Hospice and Palliative Care program of Vernon for their heartfelt support and compassionate guidance. Family and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home at 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT on Wednesday November 9, from 3 to 6pm, followed by a prayer service. A Memorial Service in celebration of Connie's life will be held at 10:30am on Friday November 25, at Center Church-First Church of Christ, 60 Gold Street Hartford, CT burial service will follow.
