Catherine D. Enes, 92, of Bolton, the wife of the late Lawrence E. Enes, died on December 18, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Catherine was the daughter of James and Catherine (Herig) Doherty. Born in Rockville, Catherine spent most of her life in Manchester, moving there in 1955, before relocating to Bolton in 1993. She worked at the Hartford, retiring in 1987. Catherine enjoyed bowling with her associates at the Hartford as well as with other members of the Telephone Pioneers Club. She also enjoyed traveling, including trips to Ireland and her yearly trip to Florida. Catherine is survived by her children; son David L. Enes of Bolton, daughters; Sharon Menard and her husband Alan of Ashford, and Margaret Newton of Arvada, CO; as well as her grandson; Jason Romano of Snow Hill, North Carolina; and her great-grandchildren; Haley Romano and Joseph Romano of Plainfield. Catherine was also survived by her bothers James Doherty and his wife Julie of Vernon and Donald Doherty and his wife Adelaide of Vernon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Lawrence, Catherine was predeceased by her brothers Gerald Doherty and Joseph Doherty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Catherine at St. James Church, 896 Main St, Manchester, on Friday December 22nd at 10:00 AM with a burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Calling hours will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St, Manchester, on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM.
