Florence E. Bascetta, 87, of Manchester, the wife of the late Sebastian J. Bascetta died Monday (September 10, 2012) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford, she had lived in Manchester most of her life. Florence had retired from Aetna Insurance Company after many years of service and enjoyed her summers in Point O' Woods Beach, Old Lyme, CT. She is survived by her sons Joseph Bascetta and his wife Sandra of Colchester, and James Bascetta of Colchester; her grandchildren Joseph, Keriann, Rachel, Caroline, Miranda, Lauren, and Robert Bascetta; and her daughters-in-law Paula Bascetta and Maria Bascetta. She is also survived by her sisters Anna Towler and Rose Higuera both of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son Robert J. Bascetta. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (September 15th) at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church 80 Main St. Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
