Obituary of Dennis Vendrillo

Dennis Leonard Vendrillo, of Tolland, formerly of Manchester, died Thursday December 7, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He grew up in Manchester then moved to Tolland after meeting and marrying Linda Dion. Dennis and Linda had two children Richard and Tara. They began raising Sheltie dogs and won several trophies while showing them at dog shows. Dennis became active in participating in the dog shows. He was a member of the Rockville Fish and Game Club. Dennis was involved as a leader for the cub scouts and coached baseball and softball. Dennis worked for over 40 years in the Tolland School system as head custodian. He was also the president of his labor union for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale Vendrillo, his mother Anna Gonzales Vendrillo and his son Richard Vendrillo. He is survived by his daughter Tara Rolocut-Vendrillo of Tennessee, a granddaughter Corrina Johnson and grandson Ryan Rolocut of Tennessee. He is also survived by three sisters. Patricia Dunnack-Marquis of Lebanon, Geraldine Huffield of Rockville, Kathleen Brousseau of Tolland and a brother Shane Vendrillo of Arizona. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 9:00 a.m. at John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
