Giuseppa "Maria" (Cartella) Intagliata, 78, the wife of the late Concetto Intagliata died Monday (August 31, 2009) at her home. Born in Sicily, Italy she had lived in Manchester for 40 years before moving to Cheshire in 1998. She was formerly employed as a seamstress at the Roosevelt Mills in Vernon, and at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Maria was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling with her family. She is survived by her children Angelo Intagliata and his wife Debbie of Lebanon, Gaetana "Tina" Delaney and her husband Dennis of Cheshire, and Paul S. Intagliata of Stamford; her grandchildren Crystal Downing and her husband Robert, Jennifer LaPointe and her husband Joseph, Richard Delaney, Michael Delaney and his wife Cherie, and Annmarie Delaney; and her great-grandchildren Amaya, Sage and Michaela. She is also survived by her siblings Clara Ciccio and her husband Carmelo, Antonino Cartella and his wife Lina, and Gaetano Cartella. Maria's family would like to extend a special note of thanks to her sister Clara and to the staff of Wallingford Hospice for their care. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (September 3, 2009) at 10:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
