James P. Hurst, 92, of Hurst Farm, Andover, the husband of Patricia (Bomba) Hurst died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in South Glastonbury, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Shea) Hurst and had lived in Andover for many years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a B-24 pilot who was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He retired from the Travelers Insurance Company in 1980. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia Bascom and her husband Robert of Summerville, SC, Thomas Hurst and his wife Shari of Andover, CT Luciann Norton and her husband John of Hampton, CT Timothy Hurst of Willimantic; 22 beloved grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Monday, November 20th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21st at St. Maurice Church 32 Hebron Road, Bolton, CT followed by burial in Bolton Center Cemetery.
