Domenica D. (Quaglia) "Sunny" Fike passed away peacefully on Monday October 30, 2017 with family by her side. A lifelong resident of Manchester, she was born June 23, 1926 to the late Domenico and Palmina (Lovisolo) Quaglia. Sunny was the wife of her one and only true love, Ray K. Fike Sr. who predeceased her by 12 years. They met right after WWII and were married May 8, 1947 and shared a remarkable marriage that lasted for 59 years. Sunny spent her entire live giving to others. She was a sweet, kind, caring and compassionate person. She wrote this poem when she was a teenager and it became her creed: "A bell is not a bell until it's rung A song is not a song until it's sung love is not put in our hearts to stay love is love when it's given away" Sunny was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She never forgot a friend or relative's birthday or special occasion. She was known for her special cakes that were the feature of many family gatherings. Sunny leaves a son and his wife, Ray Jr. and Carole of Cheshire. A granddaughter and her husband, Erica and Danny Sheppard of Cheshire, and her great granddaughter Ava Sheppard who lit up her life! Sunny was predeceased by her two sisters Theresa Serra and Alba Sobiski and two brothers Carlo Quaglia and John Quaglia. To those who called, sent cards, flowers, letters, and gifts, especially in her declining years, the Fike family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Those moments were special to mom. We would like to thank the entire staff at Manchester Manor for their care and concern. Many we knew and some we never met but mom always felt "at home".
