Vincent Kenneth Parsons, 89, of Manchester the husband of 43 years to the late Barbara (Benoit) Parsons died Thursday August 20, 2009 at his home. Born in New Britain, he had lived in Manchester for 43 years. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Vincent had been a parishioner of St. James Church for 40 years. He also retired from Sage Allen after 40 years of service as a package delivery man and later as an 18 wheel tracker trailer driver delivering merchandise store to store. In retirement he loved spending time with his friends at Dunkin' Donuts and his family. He is survived by his children Karen Moore and her husband Dave of Manchester, Kenneth Parsons and his wife Cathy of Willimantic, Debbie Cratty of Manchester, Dennis Parsons and Beth Phelps of Ellington, Daniel Parsons and his wife Barbara of East Hartford, and Timothy Parsons of Manchester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Rita Martino of Rocky Hill and Jacqueline Mortensen of New York. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his parents, Anna Egenton and David Parsons, and his brother David Parsons. Vincent's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Woodlake at Tolland Day Center for their care and also the devoted staff of Vernon Hospice for their care in the last month, especially aides Sandy, Noemi, Rebecca, Michael, and Kathy our nurse and Lisa our social worker. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (August 27th) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
