Grace E (Gage) Sillano (December 21, 1923 - October 18, 2017) passed away peacefully after a fulfilling and happy life. Born at home, Grace was the 6th of 8 children born to Charles and Blanche Gage of West Hartford, Connecticut. After graduating from West Hartford High School Grace worked at National Fire Insurance Company and later retired after 30 years of service with Hamilton Standard/United Technology before moving to Chesapeake in 1996. Grace was predeceased by her parents, her spouse of 30 years (Louis Sillano), and her 5 siblings. She is survived by her beloved son Larry Duhaime and his wife Joan; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Grace was an accomplished cook who loved social events, movies, dance shows and the dear friends she met through the Newcomers Club. She will be missed by a large circle of relatives and friends who knew her as a strong devoted woman always willing to stand for her beliefs. Grace kept her loved ones well connected through her beautiful cards, daily diary entries, visits and calls. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in Bolton Center Cemetery, Bolton. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00-12:00.
