Genevieve M. Stankiewicz, 95, the beloved wife of the late Peter P. Stankiewicz, died on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Niedzialek) Maziarz she had been a long time resident of Manchester. Genevieve was an active member of the Manchester Senior Citizens serving with the Flu Crew, the reservation lunch program and many other activities. She was a former member of the Tomahawk Square Dancing Club, the Ladies Guild of the Church of the Assumption where she regularly donated arts and craft items for the church bazaar. Jenny was a member of the Mall Milers Club and had a real fondness for traveling in the US and Europe especially to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother she is survived by her family John Stankiewicz and Mary Ann of Manchester, Janice Stankiewicz-Genero and Massimo of Italy, Nancy Stankiewicz and John Morehouse of Watertown, Paul Stankiewicz of South Windsor, Patricia McGill and Patrick of Darlington, MD, Joseph Stankiewicz and Robyn of Wylie, TX, Michael Stankiewicz and Jody of Enfield, Mark Stankiewicz and Susan of Enfield and Jean Jones and Paul of Midland, VA and her grandchildren Julie Stankiewicz and Ben Teaford, Jonathan, Michael, McKenna, Alex, Holli, Alessandra, Sarah, Rachel, Melissa and Jill. She was also predeceased by her siblings John Maziarz, Frank Maziarz, Stephen Paslow and Catherine Roussin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19th at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester at 11:00 with burial to follow at East Cemetery, Manchester.
