Obituary of Roger W. Sirois
Roger W. Sirois, husband to his beloved wife Jean of 67 years, passed into eternity at his home in Manchester, CT on Sunday September 10th, 2017 after a long illness. He was born to the late Emil and Lydia Sirois in Upper Frenchville, ME on September 1, 1929. He was a 1948 graduate of St. Francis College High School in Biddeford, ME. Roger resided in Manchester for over 60 years and has been retired from Appliance Repair for 26 years. He was a member of the Church of Assumption, Elks BPOE 1893, and Knights of Colu mbus, all of Manchester. He enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Army and Navy Club, watching UConn Huskies games with his wife, boating with friends, gardening, hosting cookouts in his back yard, Christmas Eve parties, and many get-togethers with his family and neighborhood friends. Roger was well-known for his delicious Spanish Rice!
Roger is survived by his devoted wife, Jean P. Sirois, his children, Donna Sirois, Peter Sirois and his wife Joni, Michael Sirois and his wife Adrianne, Louise Sirois, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephew s. He was predeceased by his son, Jim Sirois. Roger was one of nine siblings; he is survived by a sister Annette (Gabi) Pelletier.
The family would like to thank the wonderful team of people from North Central Hospice and Palliative Care for their support and for bringing joy and comfort to Roger during his last days at home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16th, at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adam St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
