Obituary of Eleanor Mloganoski

Eleanor Sophie (Swider) Mloganoski, of Manchester, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died August 27, 2017 after a period of declining health. She was 98. Eleanor was born February 19, 1919 in Suffield, daughter of the late Anthony Swider and Eleanora Snietka. She graduated from Suffield Academy in 1937, and in 1938 married the late Stanley H. Mloganoski, Sr. In 1943, they made Manchester their home and raised five children. Eleanor enjoyed being a wife and mother, and was an active member of St. James Parish and the Ladies of St. James. She took pleasure in homemaking, sewing and crafts, as well as bowling, bingo and visits to Foxwoods with her family. She is survived by her five children: Marie Fontanella and partner Victor Harriman, of Manchester; Stanley, Jr. and wife Frances, of Tolland; James and wife Roberta Jackson, of South Chatham, Massachusetts; Joseph and wife Nancy Skallerup, of Penngrove, California; and Joy Mlozanowski and husband Peter Razowski, of Higganum. She is also survived by her sisters Helen Calabrese of West Hartford, and Ann Luczai of Broad Brook, and her brother Chester Swider of West Suffield. She is predeceased by her brothers William, Anthony, Joseph, and Stephen, her sister Mary Rzemien, and son-in-law Richard Fontanella. Eleanor also leaves eight grandchildren, and their spouses: Teresa Houle, and husband Richard; Rita Simons, and husband Donald; Gemma Ebstein, and husband Alan; Mary Ann Mloganoski; Diane Latzko; Susan Duval, and husband Joseph; John Mloganoski, and wife Heather; and Stephen Taylor. She leaves seven great-grandchildren as well: Nicole DiGiovanni, Alexandra Konopka, Brian Simons, Anthony Ebstein, Jacob Ebstein, Joseph Duval, and Adele Rose Mloganoski. Eleanor's smile, warmth, hugs and cheerfulness will be missed by all in her large circle of family and friends. There will be no calling hours.
