Elaine B. Johnson JOHNSON, Elaine B. (Gustafson) Elaine B. Johnson (Gustafson), 79, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother entered final rest on May 31, 2009. Born in Manchester on March 24, 1930 to the late Paul and Ann Gustafson she lived most of her life in Manchester. She worked for IONA Stainless Steel and sewed baseballs when she was a young girl. She also worked as a nurse's aide in the birthing unit at Manchester Hospital in the early 1950's. She moved with her family to Pinellas Park, FL in 1971 and returned to Connecticut in 1997. Her love for her children and family was her life! She will be greatly missed. Her true love was her husband, the late Edward W. Johnson, Jr. Together they had seven children. Their son, Paul, predeceased them. Elaine is survived by three sons, Edward III & his wife Marie of Apple Valley, CA; Gary & his wife Kim of Manchester, CT; Brian & his wife Lori of Pinellas Park, Fl; three daughters, Linda of Tallahassee, FL, Heidi of Vernon, Nancy Albuit and her husband Kevin, also of Vernon; six grandchildren, Edward IV and his wife Janelle of West Springfield, MA, Carolyn of Oviedo, FL, Stephanie and her husband Brandon Doornbos of Hesperia, CA, Ashley and her husband Stan Larrabee of Manchester, Nicole Albuit of Vernon, and Kevin ALbuit, Jr. also of Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Edward V., Olivia and Sammy Johnson, Payton Doornbos and Valerie Larrabee; a sister Joyce O'Keefe of Glastonbury and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Precious. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 1 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
