Obituary of Evelyn Peila

Evelyn (Mora) Peila, 92, the widow of Peter M. Peila died on Saturday (August 11, 2012) at her home in Manchester. She was born in Portage, PA the daughter of Peter and Mary (Tiramani) Mora and had lived in Manchester since 1940. Evelyn formerly worked at Cheney Brother's and Pagani's and retired from the Town of Manchester where she worked in the Highway Dept. and the Personel Dept. She had been a volunteer at Manchester Memorial Hospital, a thirty-five year member and leader of the Manchester 4H Club, a member of the Ladies of the Assumption Church and the Legion of Mary. Evelyn is survived by her daughters MaryAnn Thibodeau and her husband Gerald, Sylvia Haleo and her husband Stephen and Carol Maida and her husband Anthony, her son Peter Peila, Jr. and his wife Linda; her grandchildren Donna and Gary Frye, Lisa and Gregory McGuire, Christi Maida, Tracey Altieri and her husband Kevin and Lacy and Roland Peila; five great grandchildren; her sister Julia Peila and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (8/16) at 9:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester with burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8:00.
