Obituary of Ronald O. Maynard

Ronald O. Maynard, 81, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, Sunday (May 21, 2017). Ronald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary (Cameron) Maynard. He was also predeceased by his mother Mildred (Miller) Clarke and his father Osmund Maynard. Ronald did not let Cerebral Palsy keep him from doing remarkable things, he was the first handicap person to receive a driver's license in Connecticut and a successful builder. He and his family lived in one of the houses he built. A house that quickly turned into a home that brought together his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for many family gatherings. In addition to spending time with family, he enjoyed going camping with his wife and being a 'chef' in the kitchen. Ronald survived by his children. Peter Maynard and his wife June, of Coventry, Ronald Maynard Jr. and his wife Debbie, of Vernon, Catherine Maynard and her husband Ghislain Garant, of Bolton, and Michael Maynard of Bolton; his grandchildren Jennifer (Maynard) Morello and her husband Paul, Mitchell Maynard, Matthew Maynard, Samantha (Maynard) Stepp and her husband Ben, Steven Maynard, Stephanie Maynard, Joshua Maynard, Natalie Maynard, Michael Maynard Jr., Collin Maynard, and Kayla Maynard. His great-grandchildren Olivia Morello, Mckayla Maynard, Johrden Maynard, and Rylee Horne. A special thank you to Janette Padilla for all of the loving care and support she provided Ronald and his family. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Saturday (May 27th) from 10:00-12:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM at St. Maurice Church Hebron Rd. Bolton. Followed by a joint burial of Ronald and Mary at Bolton Center Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy of CT 42 Norwich Rd. Quaker Hill, CT.
