Eleanor J. Diehl, 63, of Manchester, the beloved wife of Donald E. Diehl, Sr. died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home. Born in the Bronx, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Maureen (Sherman) Abbate. She had worked at Illing Middle School as a Para-Professional in Special Education for many years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Donald E. Diehl, Jr. and his wife Corie of Bolton, Michelle Balthazrr and her husband Michael of Greenville, SC, and Michael Diehl of Manchester; her grandchildren, Bryan, Emma, Alyssa, Sara and Camden Diehl, and Michael and Madelyn Balthazrr; her siblings Jean Naan and her husband Ronald, and Robert Abbate and his wife Darlene, all of Tolland; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th, at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
