Ethel Veronica Green, 93, of Manchester, the wife of the late Robert R. Green passed away on Friday March 31, 2017 at Green Springs, East Hartford. Born in Tarrytown, NY she was the daughter of the late Warren and Agnes Doyle. During World War II, Ethel worked, helping the war effort, assembling aircraft. Her husband, Robert, was a 23 year veteran of the US Air Force. Ethel graduated from Windham Hospital School of Nursing and retired as a Nurse from Manchester Memorial Hospital at 72 years old after many years of service. She is survived by her son Raymond Green and his wife Elahna of Melbourne, Australia. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Richard Green and her sister Eileen. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery.
