Julia Torres, 81, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro and Eladia (Alejandro) Torres. She was a member of Templo Sion Pentecostal Church in Hartford. She is survived by her children Jose A. Lopez and his wife Magda Zambrana of Springfield, MA, Carmen J. Ortiz and her husband Magdiel Ortiz of Manchester, and Hector L. Lopez of East Hartford; her grandchildren Justin Ortiz, Damaris Torres, Julio Lopez and Neftali Lopez; and her great-grandchildren Diamarah, Tiahna, Benthony, Yomaira, Noah and Norah. She is also survived by her brothers Jose Alfredo Torres, Pedro Torres and Iasaias Torres, several nieces and nephews and numerous church members and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester.
