Dear Family and friends of Millie, My prayers are with you as I accidentally came across the loss of this wonderful and more than generous lady. Please know that I would have been there to support you in your time of this great loss. Millie was always so generous to the Sisters of Charity and to Assumption school. You are in my prayers even at this late time of contact. God give you the embrace of love at this time that I myself cannot give.28

I remember "Millie" for the way she adjusted her glasses (when she could find them), her pumpkin paintings (she painted my mom's dog on one), her generosity and helpfulness (she took in my "Roo Goat" when I didn't have the time to care for her anymore).

My deepest sympathies to the Botticello family. You will never be forgotten Millie as you were a big part of my childhood working on the farm and attending all of our baseball games as kids. You always made me feel welcome and part of your family. Fall and Christmas time were always my favorite times at the farm painting pumpkins and making wreaths along with my Mom.Your kindness and smile will be remembered most. May we meet again someday.

My heart hurts that we've lost such a special lady. Aunt Millie will always be remembered for how much love she shared with all of us. The awesome Christmas Eve gatherings are imprinted and will be remembered forever. I'm also grateful for her teaching us the tradition of homemade ravioli. I'll never master the art of it but it will bring a smile on my face along with the messy kitchen table. Going to miss her but hope she continues to look after us as our guardian angel. Love my Botticello family! ❤

A number of songs have been written that are a based on the poem by James W. Foley, A Pebble in the Water. They all reflect on the concept that we never know how the activities we engage in over the course of our lifetime can affect people far beyond what we believe is our sphere of influence in this life. Certainly Millie's family members and friends have been touched in significant ways by the love and wisdom she shared with them. More importantly, the fruits her exemplary life will live on in the legacy of that love, which she extended to each of the people she lived with, loved and interacted with. They will carry those seeds that reflect her essence forward over time in subtle and even significant ways.
The Apostolate for Holy Relics owes a great debt of gratitude to Millie for sharing her artistic talents. Although Millie and I met only once through her great friend Nancy Ecabert, she graciously provided us with several icons that bear witness to the scenes of Christ's Passion that help us to share the message of Christ's Mercy. We have and will continue to present the story of Our Lord's Passion using Millie's icons as part of the backdrop elements in our signature program "Relics of the Passion". To date, Millie's icons have travelled across the country touching tens of thousands of individuals. The visual elements depicted in the icons are a significant vehicle in connecting the faithful to the very essence of the Father's great love for us in the sacrifice of His Son. While we observe the many people that participate in venerating the rare relics that make up "Relics of the Passion", we have noticed that many touch the icons as an added gesture of love, affirming the depiction of Our Savior's suffering presented in the icons.
The evangelizing message of the love of the Father and His Son Jesus will continue to shine through to all that have the opportunity to engage in the "Relics of the Passion" program because of Millie's talents. For that we, and all those that encounter Christ's Passion via our presentations, are eternally grateful.
On behalf of all of us at the Apostolate, we offer our sincere condoolences to Millie's family and friends and hope that you might find some comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on as her artwork continues to touch thousands of hearts.
A Pebble in the Water
Drop a pebble in the water:
just a splash, and it is gone;
But there's half-a-hundred ripples
Circling on and on and on,
Spreading, spreading from the center,
flowing on out to the sea.
And there is no way of telling
where the end is going to be.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother - Millie was a mother to so many of us in the neighborhood. How many of us did she teach to paint pumpkims when botticello farms was a single picnic table. Wonderful memories she gave us all. You are all in our thoughts during this time of loss.
