Barry Darrington "Mitch" Mitchell, of Manchester, the beloved husband of Tammy Mowel-Mitchell died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Manchester. Born in Mobile, AL he was the son of the late Mattie G. Mitchell. Mitch was a kind, proud, loving, caring man - he showed it in how he led his life. He was a security guard at Manchester High School for 18 years. Security Guard doesn't come close to describing all that he did at the High School - he loved his job, he loved the kids and he touched their lives. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a great dad, he loved his kids. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his survived by his children, Barry Darrington Mitchell II, Samantha Mitchell, Erica Mitchell, Jasmine Mitchell and Dajara Queen Mitchell; four sisters Jane A. Glass, Shanavia LaLatrice Henderson, Patricia Nicole Henderson aka Jamon, and Regina M. Perry; six brothers, Joseph Roy Dennis, Earnest Lamar Mitchell, Robert James Mitchell, Karl O'Neal Mitchell, Darrell Frank Henderson and Dewayne Glen Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Rose and Stanley Mowel of Manchester. Funeral service will be held on January 14, 2017 at Smalls Funeral Home 950 S Broad St, Mobile, AL and Union Baptist Church, Fairford, AL. The John F.
