Obituary of Nicholas Lanzano

Nicholas Lanzano, 94, of Manchester, the husband of the late Lillian Lanzano, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Ralph and Rose (Russo) Lanzano and was a lifelong resident. He had worked at Hamilton Standard and later retired after many years at United Aircraft. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he loved music, especially opera. He was serious about the study of music and even toured the country with an opera company for one year. He is survived by his stepsons, John Hodgdon III, of Mt. Desert Island, Maine, and David Hodgdon, of Willington; his sister, Beatrice Misseri, of Kissimmee, Florida; his sister-in-law, Rose Lanzano, of Manchester; his nephew, Rudolph Capello and his wife, Joan; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters; and his lifetime school chum, Amerigo Eccellente. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery.
