Obituary of Maxine Manfreda
Manfreda, Maxine Holmes, 81, of Columbia passed away on December 12, 2016 at Douglas Manor Nursing Home in Windham. Maxine was born and lived her first few years in Fort Fairfield, ME. The family moved to Manchester where she grew up and attended Manchester High School. She later lived in Glastonbury, Windham and Columbia.
Maxine wore many hats, including working on the family farm, several years at the United States Postal Service and operating her own pizza restaurant. She was most proud of raising and taking care of her family, and welcomed all into her family circle with a true and generous heart. She had a deep love for books, people and children, but her real passion was for the Boston Red Sox.
Maxine is survived by her beloved family members; her son, Matthew J. Manfreda of Windham and his wife, Tina. Matthew is by her second husband, Frank Manfreda; her daughter, Deborah Agostinelli Caputo, by her first husband Henry Agostinelli; and her grandson Douglas Caputo of Atlanta, GA. Maxine was a second mother to her grand-niece Michelle Kelley, who lives in Deltona, FL with her husband, David. She also leaves her sister Bertha Calabrese and her husband, Theodore, of West Hartford; her niece Anne Doremus and her husband, David, of Manchester; as well as many loving relatives and friends.
Maxine is predeceased by her daughter Susan Agostinelli; her son-in-law Thomas Caputo; her parents Allen and Anne Holmes; and eleven brothers and sisters.
