James E. "Corky" Coughlin, 87, of Manchester died Monday, (November 28, 2016) at a local convalescent home. Jim was born and raised in Manchester the son of the late Ruth (Mead) and James F. Coughlin. He was a retired employee of the Southern New England Telephone Company, having worked there over 40 years. Jim was predeceased by his first wife Eleanor (LaChance) Coughlin and is survived by his four sons and their families; Timothy J. and Kathy Coughlin of Bradenton, FL; James E., Jr. and Denise Coughlin of Manchester; Michael J. and Nancy Coughlin of East Hartford, and Jeffry T. and Paula Coughlin of Manchester, ten grandchildren; Kelly, Sarah, Meghan, James E. III, Kevin, Stefanie, Gregory, Katie, Jeffry, Molly and 7 great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Adele Riedel Coughlin and is survived by her children; Nancy and Mark Rittlinger of Coventry, Peter and Susan Riedel of Florida, Michelle Lock of Florida, Denise and James Lynch of Massachusetts and all their families. All funeral services will be private. Donations in Jim's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester is in charge of the arrangements.
