Obituary of Catherine M. Madden

It is with great sadness that the children of Catherine (Baronousky) Madden of Manchester announce her passing on Thursday November 17, 2016. She is the widow of the late Francis M. Madden. Catherine was born in Manchester on March 21, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Sacherek) Baronousky. She has been a life long resident of Manchester. She attended Manchester schools and was employed at Cheney Mills where she met Francis. They enjoyed their loving marriage for over 50 years. Her true passion in life was her family. She devoted her life to the caring and nurturing of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her religion meant a great deal to her and she was a devout member of St. James parish for over 67 years. Catherine enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and entertaining family and friends. Her warm and caring spirit touched all those who knew her and continues to live on in those she leaves behind. She leaves behind her 9 devoted children and their spouses, son Daniel and wife Carolyn, daughters Kathleen and husband Ronnie, Nancy Hayes and Edward, Joan Silvia and Clarence, Patricia Madden, Elizabeth March and Robert, Maureen Estey and Kevin, Brenda Bourne and Patrick, Bridget and Husband Larry. She is also survived by her brother Arthur Baronousky of New Hampshire, sister Mary Ann Tierney of Hebron, as well as her aunt, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. Her legacy of love continues through her 17 grandchildren, Daniel, Catherine, Michael, Brendan, and Sean Lumen, Jennifer and Emily Hayes, Timothy, Kaitlin and Michael Silva, Jennifer Cyr, Robert, Patrick, and Peter March, Kay and Brad Estey, Patrick Bourne and 7 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Those attending are asked to go directly to church. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Church 896 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040 or the Pathfinders Association 102 Norman St. Manchester, CT 06040.
