J.Dennis Jordan, 71 of Manchester CT passed away Wednesday November 2, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Buffalo, NY to George and Dorothy Jordan, Dennis is survived by his loving wife Marge of 47 years, his 3 sons George, Tim and Andrew and their wife's Jennifer, Melanie, and Stacy. Grandkids Gavin, Molly, Madilyn, Patrick, Mckenna and Lilly; His sister Cathy Lafferty and her husband Chuck , his sister-in-law Renee Jordan along with many loving nieces and nephews. Dennis was a metallurgist who worked in the steel industry for many years including time with Stanley Steel and Cold Metal products. A lifelong lover of cars, specifically BMW's. After retiring from metallurgy he fulfilled his love by selling and driving BMW's for a local dealership. Dennis loved sports and was active in coaching his son's local hockey teams. He was a lifelong die hard Bills fan who quickly jumped on the Patriots bandwagon after the Pats won their 1st super bowl in 2001. Dennis enjoyed cruising and traveling with a special place in his heart for the family ski vacations. A proud veteran, Dennis served in the Navy during the Vietnam era. Many will remember Dennis for his humor and storytelling, and also for receiving the most mail of anyone in the town of Manchester CT. Calling hours will be Thursday November 10, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, CT Humane Society, or the Vietnam Veterans of America.
