Alan and I never really got to know each other as adults. You would think living relatively close that our paths would cross, but this was not the case. As children, Al was like the big brother that I never had. He and Gary would frequently come over the house on the weekends and sometimes for weeks at a time during the summer. I remember Al's love for the pool. He just loved the water. He would continue to swim long after we got out. Talk about the pruned skin effect. In the winter, I remember numerous snowball fights (Al had the best arm of the bunch) I remember throwing snowballs at our neighbors fence and Al breaking off the top part of the picket fence. If he pursued it, I don't doubt he could have pitched in High school or some other baseball venue. Al was always protective of me and watched out for me when we got into scuffles with the neighborhood kids. Unfortunately our paths crossed a couple of times the past couple of years under the saddest of circumstances, his mom and dad's death, but I'll always remember Al and the great times we had as kids. Your cousin Brian Deschane

Max & Tyler, We are all deeply saddened to hear about Alan’s passing, and although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in our thoughts and prayers. The memory of Alan, his unconditional friendship and everyday kindness will always be remembered and honored, and at work, his joyful laughter echoing through the garage bay will be dearly missed. May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.
