Obituary of Eileen D. Small

Eileen D. Small, 86, died Tuesday, September 27th at Marlborough Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James and Bernadette (Heinz) Dunphy. Eileen is survived by her children, Patrick Small and his wife, Lori, of Colchester and Mary Anne Wahle and her husband, Thomas, of Arlington, VA; her grandchildren, Michael Small, Joseph Wahle, Lizzie Wahle, Claire Toms and her husband Chris, and her great-granddaughter, Lainey Toms. She is also survived by one brother and 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Small Jr., and three brothers. Eileen was a daily communicant at St. Bartholomew's and Assumption Parish for many years. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Eileen liked to be out and about, and she could be spotted all over town either on long walks or cruising in her Nana-mobile. Eileen greatly enjoyed the camaraderie of her "Wacky Widows" group; they created many happy memories together. She spent countless hours visiting her numerous friends and assisting them with their various needs; she also donated generously to a number of religious and pro-life causes. The family would like to thank everyone at Marlborough Health Center for their kindness and exquisite care of their beloved mother this past month, as well as her aide, Anita, who was her faithful companion for the past three years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Church, 736 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester. The John F.
