Obituary of Casimer Skowronski

Casimer D. Skowronski, 91, of Manchester the husband of the late Cecelia T. Skowronski and companion of twenty-two years to Yolanda Burns died Sunday January 4, 2009 at Manchester Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an engineer after 31 years of service. Casimer was a US Army veteran of World War II and a survivor of Iwo Jima of which he was extremely proud. He was also a Director in charge of process for the Inventors Patent Exchange, a member of the Army/Navy club and a communicant of St. Bartholomew Church. He is survived by Linda and Carl Meadows of Andover, Dennis Burns of Tolland, Jo Ann and Richard Whitaker of Manchester, Kevin and Jason Meadows, Matthew and Leah Whitaker, his nephew Kenneth Zionce of Newington and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 9th at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Road Manchester, followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery Norwich. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 pm.
