Linda (Powell) Reed, 52, of Manchester, went home to Heaven on Friday, December 26, 2008, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on January 27, 1956, in Hartford to Robert & Loretta Powell and was a resident of Manchester most of her life. She was a graduate of Manchester High School and the Creative School of Hairdressing and a member of Trinity Covenant Church, where she was active in the Alpha, MOPS, and Christmas musical ministries. Always quick to help others, Linda continues to care for those she will not meet this side of Heaven by becoming an organ donor. She leaves behind her mother and step father, Loretta and Ellis Carlson; her daughter, Kelly Allard and her husband Nicholas; her sons Robert and Ryan; and her grandson and great source of joy �" Matthew Allard. She also leaves her brother, Jeffrey Powell; sister, Jennifer Smyth and her husband William; nieces and nephews: Laura Larson and her husband Jim; William Smyth and his wife Monica; and Jessy Smyth; as well as her loving church family and many friends. Linda's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 29, from 5-7 p.m., at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St, Manchester.. Memorial service will be held at Trinity Covenant Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ryan Reed Scholarship Fund at New Alliance Bank, 923 Main St, Manchester.
