Obituary of Joseph DeSimone

Joseph R. DeSimone, 92, of Manchester husband of the late Rose (Moriconi) DeSimone died Sunday (November 30, 2008) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Manchester, he was a graduate of the Manchester High School class of 1933 and a life long resident. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Hamilton Standard after 31 years of service. He was a communicant of St. James Church, a charter member of the Manchester Lodge of Elks and was on their bowling team. He also played senior golf at Manchester Country Club, was a member of the Army/Navy Club and loved the Yankees, UCONN Women's Basketball and Men's Football. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Ralph DeSimone and his wife Carol of Manchester, and Joseph DeSimone and his wife Patricia of Coventry; his son-in-law Jack McWilliams of Louisville, KY; and his grandchildren Brett and Allison DeSimone of Montana and Wendi DeSimone of Willington. He is also survived by his brother Anthony DeSimone of Manchester and his sister Irma DeSimone of Manchester and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter Beverly DeSimone McWilliams and brother Matt DeSimone. Joseph's Family would like to offer a special note of thanks to his caregiver's Sam and Christine for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Friday December 5th at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 pm.
