Obituary of Francis Warren

Francis J. (Frank) Warren, born on April 26, 1917 died September 29, 2008, after a determined fight against cancer. Frank was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and spent several of his younger years in Saranac Lake, NY. He was a World War II veteran who served in the US Army as a radioman attached to a concrete Merchant Marine ship in the South Pacific. He was a proud member of the New York City Police Department for twenty-three years and then retired to Manchester in 1976 to enjoy his grandchildren. Frank had a life long interest in indoor plants, outdoor gardening and birds. He was the person to consult about any and all home repairs. And he always enjoyed a good polka. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Regina whom he married in 1941. He is survived by his daughter Jane Holdsworth of Manchester, his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Robert Loehfelm of VA and their children Amy and Jim. He is also survived by his dear sister Marie and good friend and neighbor, Maggie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 3rd at 9:00 at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. Burial will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Thursday from 2-5.
