Donald L. Williams, 77, of Manchester the husband of Gloria (DeVincenzi) Williams died Wednesday (August 6, 2008) with his loving family surrounding him at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Nahant, MA, he was raised in N. Chelmsford and lived most of his life in Manchester. He was the son of the late Leo A. and Evelyn (Hamilton) Williams. Don was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame receiving his B.S. in Engineering and received his Master's Degree from the University of Connecticut in Engineering. He was formerly employed for 42 years as a Design Engineer at Pratt & Whitney. He was a member of Manchester Country Club and the Retired Swingers Bowling League. He was also a lecturer at St. Bartholomew Church and his passions included hockey, the Red Sox, golf and fishing. Always happy and smiling, he was a loved and loving man. Besides his wife he is survived by his children David Williams of Rocky Hill, Kevin Williams and his wife Teresa of Rockland, MA, Mary Beth Casey and her husband David of Guilford, and Roberta Duffy and her husband Bob of Middletown, RI; his grandchildren Sean P., Matthew B. and Abigail R. Duffy of Middletown, RI, Sarah K. Williams of Rockland, MA, and Colin D. and Katherine M. Casey of Guilford. He is also survived by his sister Joan Cardinale of Groveland, MA, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (August 9th) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Church, Ludlow Road Manchester, followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester.
