Obituary of Salvatore Squatrito
Dr. Salvatore J. Squatrito, Jr. of Glastonbury died peacefully in his
sleep at home early Monday morning July 14, 2008 following a lengthy
illness. He was born February 24, 1937 in Hartford, CT and married 48
years to Mary (Duddles) Squatrito. He was pre-deceased by his parents
Salvatore J. Squatrito, Sr. and Mary (Marcantonio) Squatrito and his
brother Marcantonio Squatrito of Manchester. Besides his wife he also
leaves their only child Dr. Ernest L. Squatrito and his fiancee
Melissa L. Altmann of Glastonbury, who together have six children:
Emily R. Squatrito, Maria R. Squatrito, Christopher J. DiNeno,
Alexandra L. DiNeno, Lucas R. Altmann and Amanda M. Altmann. His
brother and sister in law; Judge Dominic J. Squatrito and Carla
Squatrito of Manchester. A brother in law Ray Fredrick Duddles of
Culver City California, A sister in law Donna (Duddles) Delf of Barto,
Florida, several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Dr. Squatrito had a periodontal practice in Manchester for nearly 40
years, and was active in many dental societies. He was a graduate of
Manchester High School, Wesleyan University in Middletown,Connecticut,
Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine, Periodontal
residency in New york City. He was an active member in the American
Dental Association, The American Academy of Periodontology, and the
Pierre Fauchaud Academy. He was a member and former president of the
Connecticut State Dental Association, The Connecticut Society of
Periodontists, and the Manchester Dental Society. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 10 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4-8 pm.
