Obituary of Lorraine Irwin

Lorraine (Goodman) Irwin, 62, of Manchester passed away July 29, 2007. Born in Springfield, MA she had lived in Connecticut since 1992. Lorraine was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield, Class of 1962. After graduation she worked for F.W. Sickles in Chicopee, MA as a tester. She attended Elms College in Chicopee, MA. She became a Notary Public in the State of Massachusetts, along with becoming a Notary Public in the State of Connecticut. She was also a Justice of the Peace in Manchester, CT and was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Manchester. She worked at K & M Electronics in West Springfield, MA. Lorraine also worked as an office manager for Paul's Crane Service in Springfield, MA and L & G Repair in Manchester, CT. She was active in the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was also an area representative at camping shows for Brialee RV & Tent Park located in Ashford, CT where she made her summer residence. She is survived by her husband Gary Charles Irwin Sr. of Manchester; her children Theresa Ann LeClair and her longtime partner Joseph Calvanese Jr. of Westfield, MA, Marie Annette Fleury and her husband Geoff Fleury of Southampton, MA, Dianna Jo Gahimer and her husband Virgil of Willimantic, Gary Charles Irwin Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Lester Brian Pease of Holyoke, MA, Melissa Rae Golob of Willimantic, Steven Ernest Irwin and his wife Eve Riddell Irwin of Coventry. She leaves 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild with one on the way. She also leaves a sister Marie Coleman of Ormand Beach, FL, a brother Ronald Goodman of Clarksville, TN and a sister Denise O'Brien of Chicopee, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Lester Enos Goodman and Marie "Mary" Rose (Denoncourt) Goodman of Chicopee, MA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (August 4, 2007) at 11 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 pm and on Saturday morning from 10-11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation 126 Monroe Turnpike Trumbull, CT 06611.
