Patricia "Patty" Bailey Atmore of Clinton died peacefully Sunday July 29th. She was surrounded by her family. She was 55 years old. She leaves her husband Bill Atmore of Clinton. She was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Joan Bailey and her brother Mark Bailey. She leaves her mother Nancy Bailey, sisters Michele Hollick and her husband Terry, Barbara Bailey, Barbara Kautz, Jody Waldron and her husband Gary, Mary Beth Marotto; Brothers Gene Bailey and his wife Lucille, Daniel Bailey and his wife Eileen, David Bailey and his wife Karen, John Kautz and his wife Judy. In addition she leaves many nieces and nephews. Patty was born September 4 1951 in Clifton Springs New Jersey and grew up in East Hartford. Patty graduated from East Catholic High School in 1969 and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Southern Connecticut State University. Patty was a distinguished educator of special needs children for the past 24 years. Patty began her career at Highlands Heights in New Haven and was most recently employed by Rushford Academy in Portland, CT. Here Pat was always a steady support. She was admired by her colleagues for her tremendous attention to detail as well as her intense sense of organization, and when Pat was at work, no detail was ever missed. More importantly, however, Pat will be remembered for the intense love and concern she had for her students and her co-workers. It was that love that was the foundation of all that she did...from the lessons and activities she painstakingly prepared to the "goodies" that she brought to celebrate birthdays and leave-takings as well as those days when, in her goodness, she sensed her co-workers needed a treat at lunchtime. She will be sorely missed by those who were privileged to be under her tutelage as well as those who had the honor of working with her. Patty will always be remembered by her positive attitude and caring ways. Patty had a lifelong sense of family. One of her greatest joys in life was giving to others. Her loyalty and love for her brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces was absolute. She enjoyed her garden and had a great love of animals. She will be especially missed by her dog Bear Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (August 1, 2007) at 9:15 am from the John F.
