Obituary of Chester F. Bycholski

Chester F. Bycholski, 95, passed away Saturday September 15, 2018. He was born May 11, 1923 to Stanislaw and Frances Bakulski and was predeceased by his wife Janet M. (McGann) Bycholski in 2007.

Chester graduated with a duel diploma from Manchester High School and Manchester Trade School (Howell Cheney Tech) in 1941 and served in the United States Navy from 1942-1946 as a First Class Petty Officer on the USS Ocklawaha A084. He worked for Harford Electric Light, Sealtest Dairy and retired in 1980 from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Willgoos Lab, after retirement he drove for Dolin Limousine of Newington. Chet served on the Manchester Democratic Town Committee, Manchester Park and Recreation Advisory Board, and as a Manchester Selectman. He was a life-long New York Yankees and UCONN Woman’s basketball fan.

Chet is survived by his sweetheart Elaine Mistretta of East Lyme, CT, his daughter Linda Hennequin of Manchester, his sons Robert Bycholski of Manchester and Timothy Bycholski and his wife Karan of Bolton, dear friend Lynn Lynch of Coventry, his grandchildren Cheryl, Kristin, Donald, Debbie and her husband Tom, Beri and her husband John, Aimee and her husband Brett, Ryan, Anna, Jacob and Eric, 10 great-grandchildren and also Linda Paul Bycholski and Colby Freeman.  He was also survived by his sister-in-law Angeline Bycholski of Florida and many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and wife, Janet, Chet is predeceased by his siblings Stanley, Stella (Parciak), Bruno, Walter and John and his son-in-law David Hennequin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 22nd at 11:00 AM at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. Family and Friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT on Saturday September 22nd from 9:30 – 10:30 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
