Obituary of Robyn S. Ridel

Robyn Sherri Gerson Ridel, 65, of Manchester, CT departed from this earth peacefully at her home on the spring morning of Friday, June 15, 2018. She will forever sprinkle her star dust back down to us from the cosmos. She will join her mother and father whom she missed dearly up in the heavens; Evelyn and Richard “Evie and Red” Gerson. She now looks over her two children whom she loved fiercely with all her being; Richard Ridel and Rachael Bennett. She touched the lives of their spouses in a special way as well; Denise Ridel and Matthew Bennett. She is now the guardian angel of her four deeply loved and cherished grandchildren; Cyrus, Ayla, Emery and Asher. She is survived by her former husband and forever friend, Curtis Ridel along with her loving and older sister, Nancie Marinaro. Her beloved aunts and uncles; Selma Foster, Carol Noyes and Seth Harris, all of whom she absolutely adored and looked up to. This just touches the surface of those infected with the love of Robyn. She will always be known as “mom” to many of the neighborhood kids that grew up in the Washington Elementary School district, where she was the lunch aide/school helper extraordinaire for many years, as well as each and every friend of her children. She was someone you knew you could come to for advice, love and support truly without judgment. She knew how to instantly make someone feel at ease and comforted. 

We come together in love and grace to honor the precious life of Robyn on June 21, 2018; celebrating alongside the solstice, with a celebration of her life. Please join us in celebrating her joyful and playful demeanor with calling hours from 4-6pm at Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street in Manchester, followed by a memorial service at 6pm.
