Obituary of Edmund J Libera

Edmund J. Libera, 93, the beloved husband of 44 years to Angela (Vercelli) Libera died on Wednesday April 4, 2018 in Manchester, CT.  Born in Glastonbury, the son of John & Agatha (Magka) Libera and had been a long time resident of Manchester.  Edmund was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and Colt Industries.  He was a member of the Army & Navy Club in Manchester and the American Legion Post 102.  Besides his wife Angela, Edmund is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, great-grandnieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his siblings Bolac, Fred, Matthew, Henry, Wanda, Cecelia and Andrienna.  Funeral services will be held on Monday April 9, 2018 at 9:15 from the John F Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM at Saint James Church Main St Manchester.  Burial at Saint James Cemetery Manchester, CT with full military honors.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday April 8^th from 2-5PM.  Those wishing may make memorial donations to Prospect ECHN Home Health 8 Keynote Dr. Vernon, CT 06066.  For online condolences please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com
